Why a website is like an apple tree
The soil which forms the foundation of the tree is your company
Information on your company feeds the roots: The content management system. You cannot see these roots but they are essential for the tree to be healthy
You can see the branches: The navigation system that guides visitors around your website.
The apples are the fruit of the website: Visitors becoming customers or whatever your goal is for the site
If it sounds simple, that’s because it is… So why do so many websites produce rotten fruit?
Two bad apples spoil the bunch
There are two things wrong with many websites:
* The navigation (the branches) does not direct visitors to where you want them to be or get across the message you want to tell (the fruit)
* The content management system (the roots) is too complex for you (the soil) to make the changes necessary
A successful website relies on a clear structure (the tree), a keen eye for the commercial and an understanding of how internet surfers behave. At Designwell we attach the greatest importance to how people navigate around your site. And make sure it has the flexibility to be easily changed, either by us on your behalf or by your designated people.
If your website is worth designing, it’s worth designing well. Read more about the Designwell way of looking at the web. Or go straight to our services.

"If you grow a healthy tree, you'll pick healthy fruit. If you grow a diseased tree, you'll pick worm-eaten fruit. The fruit tells you about the tree.”
